Each design is focused around the ability to break down products for recycling after its usable lifetime - from the materials, how they are combined, and how they can be separated later. Furniture is flat-packed when possible, which reduces the risk of damage and lowers emissions during shipping. Innovation is also working to minimize the environmental impact of new fabrics; Vivus is a new fabric created from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, and they have begun developing products with detachable textiles that minimize the need for replacement furniture. Additionally, the company is planting 10,000 trees per year to compensate for wood consumption and balance the global ecosystem.
